During the press and media conference of Google Music which was held in the city of Los Angeles, California, Google Incorporated made an announcement that its platform of Android operating system hit more than two hundred million activations in the whole world. The new record has increased by one hundred million on the past six months. Significantly, the amount of activations implies that users around the world are getting more interested to owning a smartmobile device units powered by Android operating system.
For over three years, a large number of activations which had been recorded is a great deal for the company.
The rapid growth of Android platform has now reached to a well-established position on the market of high-technology like operating systems Symbian of Nokia Corporation and BlackBerry of Research In Motion. However, as Android and iPhone entered the market scene and tight the competition those two were left behind.
A number of daily activation was first begun to be shared by Google. This was during the time when the company launched Nexus One of HTC. Based on Google’s record, handsets with Android platforms had sixty thousand activations each day during that time.
As Google is updating the operating system Android, 60,000 activations continued to increase everyday and now it reached to more than two hundred million.
In July 2011, Google announced in its quarterly call of earnings that it reached to five hundred fifty thousand activations each day.
