Currently, the competition on high end devices seems to involve two giant companies only. One is headquartered in Cupertino, California while the other one is based in South Korea – they are Apple Incorporated and Samsung Electronics Company, respectively. The competition of this giant maker and manufacturer of smartmobiles and tablet computers is not merely grounded on sales record but also in patent design of their devices.
Samsung has entered the market of smartmobile on the previous year. The sales of the Korean company had gradually grown each quarter of the fiscal year. On the other hand, Apple has been in the industry of smartmobile for quite some time. It it started in 2007 when the company introduced its very first iPhone device.
Moreover, within the months of July to September, Samsung took over the lead against Apple as the top maker of smartmobile in the whole world. For the record, a forty percent increase in shipment was made by Samsung. As for the fourth quarter, Samsung acquired a significant number on its sales which served as warning sign not just to Apple but to its all rivals.
According to Strategy Analytics, a research firm, within the fourth quarter, the shipment of Samsung units went up to 27.8 million. This number is four times higher as compared from the previous year.
The company announced a record of 2.5 trillion won which is equivalent to 2.2 billion dollars in sales account to sixty percent of the total profit of Samsung.
