Research In Motion’s Future Looks Brighter Outside US

RIM is turned down in US but future lies behind to other placesResearch In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry and PlayBook, is now in doubt with its status in the United States as well as its market share in the industry of smartmobile around the world. Users of BlackBerry felt disappointed and dissatisfied with the service network outage that happened late in the second quarter of 2011. Ever since the service outage happened, the status of RIM in the market has lowered, especially now that Apple Incorporated and Google Incorporated are rapidly upgrading their software.

An analyst from Canalys, a firm based in United Kingdon, Tim Shepherd blamed bad publicity on the press media towards RIM in some areas of the United States. Shepherd continued, “RIM is continually faced with an unfavorable press.”

An analyst from IDC, Ramon Llamas seconded the notion of Shepherd. According to Llamas, the bad perceptions on the press of RIM primarily branched out from different stories about the concerns of United States and Canada towards the structure of the company.

On the brighter note, RIM is not all lackluster when we take a view outside the region of North America. The service of instant messenger by the BlackBerry Messenger of RIM is popular. The maker of BlackBerry is currently getting closer with the users under the age bracket of teenagers to a broad range of new smartmobile units of BlackBerry.

However, market share of RIM’s smartmobile continues to drop to ten percent within the third quarter of 2011 from fifteen percent in the same quarter the previous year, based on the report of IDC.
