As a matter of history, G1 of T-Mobile is the very first Android phone of Google Inc. which was made by HTC. When it was first launched in October 2008, the operating system was not something that created a great immediate impact to the society of smartmobile users. The keyboard was gutter-like and the bottom part was unusually elongated. Yet, the production of the units didn’t stop but soon came to a sudden rush, manufacturing large quantities during this time.
According to Canalys, a research firm, the operating system of Android looks at a current market share of forty eight percent globally. In South Korea alone, it earned an astounding eighty-five percent, while in Taiwan it grabbed seventy-one percent.
Sales of iPhone still remain consistent, even with the Windows Phone gradually penetrating the market. This could pose a threat as innovation in devices is enhanced in every minute of every day,
Likewise, several versions of Android operating system are made available by Google during the same period of time. Majority of the smartmobile models are run by Android 2.2 which is known as the Froyo. Android 2.3 which is also called Gingerbread is also out in the market of operating system. Honeycomb or the Android 3.0 is also available now specified in tablet units.
Aside from those versions mentioned earlier, Ice Cream Sandwich is said to top it all and set the change of Android. Its main feature is that it fits all large and small screens of Android–a one-size-fits-all solution.
Ice Cream Sandwich is still in its process of perfection while current devices are still upgrading to Gingerbread.
